203 Carrall Street, Vancouver (Gastown)
Gastown is known for its unique and cozy spots, and Six Acres is no exception. Situated behind the Gassy Jack statue at the fork dividing Carrall, Alexander and Powell Streets,. Six Acres has a rustic charm to it, with old book covers for menus, brick lined walls and a vintage air to the space. It is a very small place, very close to the bar and kitchen, with a semi-private second floor for larger groups. I was at Six Acres with my friend Emily on St. Patrick's day and Gastown was buzzing with people. Despite the busy streets outside, Six Acres was just like having dinner at home. We both had Sunday Ciders which were on special, and then shared a delicious Macaroni and Cheese and Poutine, which were both flavourful, super warm and the perfect comfort food to go with the crisp cider. Aside from the typical pub fare, Six Acres also serves up hearty meals like Barley risotto and Lamb meatballs - meals that I will return again to try!
